We're pretty sure Ellen has never heard of Gassville, AR but there's one good reason --- well, actually about 41 reasons --- she might find Gassville very interesting. We're talking about Janice Wolf and the residents of Rocky Ridge Refuge. Janice lives on fifteen acres of land she inherited from her father. She shares her home with Lurch, an African Watusi steer who is somewhat of an international celebrity. He is the Guinness Record holder for the largest circumference of horns of any animal of the world. You have to see it to believe it and even then its still hard to comprehend. Take a look at the photos below. Lurch's inclusion in Guinness has drawn visitors to Rocky Ridge from all over around the globe including Viet Nam, Kenya, the UK, Australia, Japan, Sweden, Canada and Germany as well most of the 50 US states. But here's the real kicker: Lurch and Janice aren't alone up there. Ever since moving onto the property Janice has been living out her life-long dream of establishing a home for abused and abandoned animals. She gives hope and a future to domestic and exotic animals that otherwise would have lived out their lives in sadness and suffering. In the process the animals have taken each other in and formed a unique family. It's kind of like the Island of Misfit Pets at Rocky Ridge. As Janice says, "Everything I have is broken!" There's Tristan, Puzzle and Parfait --- dogs who were constantly passed over because they have only three legs. There's Brian, an African goose who was left for dead when Janice rescued him. Brian and the aforementioned Puzzle recuperated together after Puzzle had major surgery. There's a Llama with one good eye named Noogie and a rambunctious zebra named Zeebiscuit --- both exotics that Janice took in when their owners realized they'd gotten into more than they could handle. There's a blind black lab named Oops who has befriended a deaf bull terrier named Cornbread. They are each other's eyes and ears. These are only a few of the amazing and unique friendships you will see at Rocky Ridge. Cat and Goose, Dog and Lamb, Llama and Donkey are just a few of the species that have become fast friends. Janice also has adopted and treated (by way of her background as a vet-tech and her vast knowledge of herbal remedies) wild deer, miniature donkeys, Zebu cows, injured racehorses, cats and even an antelope that lived in her house for a while. Oh! We haven't even mentioned Wade the Water Buffalo --- he's a rock star! Janice Wolf is a hero because she didn't wait for someone to give her permission to take action. She didn't wait until she had all the answers and all the resources. As soon as she had a place she employed her sharp mind, great heart and incredible work ethic to start rescuing animals. She started with one. She did what she could and built from there making the world a better place one precious life at a time.

1. Hi! I am hoping you will have Janice Wolf on
your show and discuss her Rocky Ridge Animal
Refuge. She does amazing work with the animals she
has rescued and I think no one has ever seen
"Lurch" who is the the record books. She is truly
a hero and her story needs to be told. I have a
rescued dog that came from a puppy mill and their
stories should also be told as Janice has dogs for
adoption from these horrible puppy mills up for
adoption. Please Ellen - I know how much you love
animals - please give back to the ones who cannot
speak for themselves and have Janice Wolf on your
show. Please....

6. What a wonderful rescue to showcase.
Janice acted out of the goodness of her
heart & she will be rewarded for that
action. I am sure she reaps rewards daily
from the love & appreciation these discarded
& formerly abused animals heap on her!
Please help her to continue her efforts by
showcasing her rescue on your show. That
would do so much to increase her visibility
& would allow her to rescue & love even more
animals that are so very deserving. I am so
thankful that there are people like Janice &
you out there to fight for the rights of the
animals - Please please make sure that this
segment is aired on your show! It is too
uplifting & valuable to get lost in the
shuffle. Thanks!

8. Ellen.. wonderful show about the refuge
in Arkansas.. God bless them. We too take in
unwanted, abandoned, feral, hurt and dead
animals (the dead ones we pick up along the
road or wherever we find them and give them
a decent burial. Right now we have 10 dogs,
24 chickens, 24 cats and a couple of goats
in about a week. This, by no means is
anything like the refuge mentioned on your
Wednesday program but it is busy and
costly...feed is about $300 a month but the
real bills are veterinarian bills.. wow. We
only have 3/4 of an acre so we can't get too
big but I can understand how the refuge does
it because most people don't care.. Speaking
of which we could use some help from that
man you had on you program who plans to help
the refuge. What was his email address if
you do not mind. I can send you a email
movie if you would like so let us know. God
bless you and please take care and have a
good life. Rick Scherl

9. I have never had the opportunity to meet
Janice. But I have followed her work through
her website and word of mouth. I live in
Henderson, AR approximately 20 miles from
Gassville, AR. I have the pleasure of
meeting many fantastic people through some
of our local Rescue Groups. Janice does what
so many of us wish we could. I myself have
10 dogs and 5 cats. All rescued in one way
or another. I wish I could accomplish what
this woman has. And it all comes from her
heart. At times that we read the horrific
stories of the abuse of animal hoarders and
other Rescue Groups, that abuse the name
Rescue, it is a breath of fresh air to know
someone like Janice exists. If anyone can
help her in any way it is well deserved.
Thank you so much Ellen for recognizing this
wonderful woman's work.

11. There are many rescue groups across the
country that do phenomenal work to save
animals and to prevent mistreatment and
neglect. Rocky Ridge Refuge is an amazing
story that needs to be told. I hope that you
can help promote Jan's remarkable service
for those damaged creatures. Every creature
on earth, two or four legged needs help
sooner or later, but the most abused seldom
get the help. God's blessing is to provide
us Jan and Rocky Ridge Refuge. Your blessing
is that you can help spread the word. Thank
you for your work and to Jan for her work.

12. I have been to many refuse sites on the
net, and have never seen one as touching as
Rocky Ridge Refuge. These good people are
doing so much for those that mankind has
discarded, and I think they are pretty
wonderful folks. What Janice Wolf, in
Gassville, AR has done is open her heart to
those who really need her. She has got to be
one of the worlds most treasured people.
Please, everyone out there who can, help her
help them.

13. Gentle is the word that describes Janice
and her animals at Rocky Ridge Refuge. A
Watusi steer with huge horns blinks his big
eyes and almost purrs as Janice give him a
friendly scratch. Dogs, geese, deer,
donkeys, llamas, horses live together and
thrive in spite of former abuse, injury or
abandonment. They could have no finer keeper
than Janice. They melt in her presence, and
her story will melt your heart.

her efforts here in AR. We are all so very
proud of her!

15. Please, Please, Please do a feature
story on Janice Wolf and all the animals at
Rockyridge! I have known Janice and the
animals for a number of years. There is no
one more deserving of some well appointed
attention. Janice is very humble about her
accomplishments with the animals and the
people whose lives she touches. I myself
have gone to Rockyridge when I am in need of
peace. I always find it there. I have
adopted two of the most wonderful dogs in
the world from Janice. They bring me such
joy everyday. I know that others have
experienced this same joy. I would love to
see Janice receive the attention she
deserves for all the good she does. Thank
you, Thank you, Thank you! Dawn

16. I was so excited to hear that Janice
Wolf and the Rocky Ridge Refuge story might
be showcased on the Ellen DeGeneres show!
Janice has worked so hard and done so much
to give these animals a life worth living.
She lives frugally without many of the
modern conveniences, in order to provide
more for her animals. She also continues to
study, beyond her vet tech training, to
learn methods of treatment and cures for the
various conditions she encounters with the
animals under her care. What a delight to
see her animals restored to health and a
happy existence! Janice also serves on the
board of our local humane society and
volunteers time there. She participates in a
program that brings animals to visit nursing
home residents. I sure hope that if I am
ever "shut in", someone will bring sweet
creatures to visit me! Life devoid of animal
interaction would be depressing indeed! I
look forward to seeing the Rocky Ridge story
on your show. We hear so much about animal
abuse. It would be encouraging to shed some
light on the other end of the spectrum! Best
wishes to you, Ellen. Thank you for your
genuine concern, love and generosity. Love
the dancing too! Sincerely, Rena Hutchison

17. Janice is a very unique person in that
she not only wants to rescue all animals,
she concentrates on the ones that need the
help the most. She searches shelters for the
ones that are injured or have some kind of
handicap, knowing full well they are the
first ones most shelters put down, because
they have limited resources. These are the
ones Janice wants to help even though she
really is limited with resources. She
doesn't have a lot of money, because she
continually spends all she has helping those
that need it the most. She is a very very
special person that does so much for all the
animals.

18. I volunteer for a shelter in KY. We had
a very sweet dog with a very damaged leg
brought to our shelter by animal control. It
was obvious that the leg could not be saved,
so we had the vet remove it. We put out a
plea for her to be rescued and Janice
stepped forward to help her -- she is the
Parfait mentioned in her narration above.
While we had never heard of Janice or her
refuge, many emails came to us from her
supporters telling us that our dog we called
Peg would be in good hands. They even worked
out the transport to get Peg to Janice.
Janice renamed her Parfait, because she was
a perfect dog, even though she now had only
3 legs. We could see Parfait on the website
and have since learned that she was adopted.
when we heard that Janice may be featured, I
set my DVR to make sure I did not miss the
show and have notified all my rescue friends
that they should be watching. We would
really love to see Janice and Parfait's
temporary home. This might be the only way
we can do it. And you know as well as I that
this exposure will generate a lot of help
for a woman who can obviously use it, as can
anyone working to save homeless animals. So
PLEASE???

19. Ellen, as much as you love animals I
think you should go and visit Janice Wolf
and do something BIG for her as much as she
has done for these animals! You might even
get some help from the major companies that
are in and were founded in Northwest
Arkansas, like Wal-mart, Tyson Foods, JB
Hunt Trucking , Dillard's Dept. Stores and
the Clinton's went to college @ U of A and
lived here for several years! Just a
thought, please please help this lady out,
for ALL OF US out here that ABSOLUTELY LOVE
ALL ANIMALS! Sincerely, Jackie Davis

20. Dear Ellen, How pleased I was to see the
feature on Janice Wolf and Rocky Ridge
Refuge. I have had the pleasure of visiting
Janice and her Ark on many occasions and she
is truly the "St. Francis of Assisi" of
Arkansas. I hope you have the chance of
experiencing firsthand the magic of the
peaceable kingdom that surrounds her.
Animals are her passion and she has saved
creatures from dogs to donkeys, hummingbirds
to antelopes, geese to goats, and always
makes room for any animal in need of her
services. She works miracles with next to
nothing and yes, she does live in a small
place and jokes about having to stack the
animals at bedtime. She is amazing in her
knowledge of the many areas of animal care
and treatment using herbs and large doses of
love. I appreciate this opportunity to add
my voice in support of this "angel on earth"
and hope that she and her animal family will
be considered for any assistance you and
your viewers can make available. They are
all truly deserving. Thank you. Jane

21. Janices' family of misfits is a
wonderful place to visit. I have been there
several times and am amazed at how well all
the animals get along. Lurch is so gentle
little kids have had their pictures taken on
his back. Him and his best friend the water
buffalo are amazing. She needs help feeding
all of the rescued animals. Just feeding the
whole bunch takes very much money and time.
They all seem to know she loves them and
they care for her!!! Ellen help her if you
can. Thank you

23. Janice is a wonderful woman. She took a
St. Bernard that we pulled from a local
shelter...he was in danger of being
euthanized, and he was so sweet and gentle
and loving. When no one in our rescue group
could house such a large boy, Janice
graciously offered to take him in. He was
later adopted out to a wonderful home up
north on a farm. (He is the gorgeous tan
Saint in picture # 3 with the two fawns).
Janice would give you the shirt off her back
and her last dollar if it meant saving or
helping our four legged friends...please
help her in return.

24. I have had the privilege of visiting
Rocky Ridge Refuge many times over the past
several years. Every time I visit, what
impresses me the most is how every animal
there is so content--yes, I would say
"Happy" if that were possible! They all
respond positively to Janice, to visitors,
and to each other. Since every animal there
has come to Janice injured, sick, abused or
neglected, it is just incredible to watch
them improve, run and play, and be part of a
'family' again. She has done this for years
without fanfare, without any funding except
individual donations to help with the food.
Once a person visits there and witnesses the
love and care of these wonderful animals, it
is something you will never forget! I
sincerely hope that with your interest,
Ellen, that your audience will see just how
incredible Janice Wolf is--and that at long
last there will be a way of continuing
support of this refuge, for Lurch and all of
his family!

28. The gift of love is so evident here. One
person can make a difference in the lives of
many and has. Loving can be a simple act
with forever changes. The reciprocity
between her "good works" and the results are
ongoing and an example for all of us. Her
efforts extend well past the animals. She
offers us the opportunity to experience what
genuine kindness can bring with both animals
and people. She seeks not fame yet deserves
recognition. Thank you and her.

29. Anyone who devotes their whole life's
work to caring for abandoned animals has a
truly selfless heart. You aren't going to
get rich doing it (in fact it's very much
the opposite!), you aren't going to climb
any corporate ladder doing it, and you
aren't going to get alot of understanding
from people who think being devoted to
animals is "eccentric." What you are going
to get is a blessing from God and the
unconditional love of a creature that would
probably cease to exist were it not for you.
It's beautiful what this woman is doing.

30. Janice has been a friend of mine for
years and she is absolutely the most
dedicated and informed animal care giver I
have ever known. Miracles are worked at
Rocky Ridge Refugee and a lot of it comes
from the love she gives to each and every
animal there. She takes in the ones who get
turned down elsewhere and makes such a
difference in their lives that over time
many are placed in loving homes. She takes
animals to local nursing homes and other
places where her three legged friends, deaf
fur friends, blind fur friends, etc. can
minister to others and help give them a
brighter outlook on their own lives from
watching these well adjusted pets that are
physically challenged themselves.

31. Janice is a saint - she has given her
life to the care of very needy furbabies.
Just think how many more she could save if
someone would help her with appropriate
living quarters and appropriate buildings
for the animals. Not to mention funding for
food and vet care. Won't you help her
Ellen??

32. This is a truly wonderful deserving
person-anyone who gives there life to help
animals has a good heart and deserves all
the assistance they can get. Janice deserves
so much more than she has she gives all she
has and all the loves she has to the
unwanted. Please find it in your heart to
support this hero!!

33. This is such a beautiful story, and such
a beautiful woman. Too many people get pets,
and then abandon them, or mis-use them. It
is so hard to believe that in this society,
publicity is always given to the wrong
people, and the people who do the most help,
get no recognition for their caring and
loving work. I try to help out all these
organizations, as much as I can. They all
really need everyone`s help, to survive.
Animals are such beautiful gifts from God,
and It is so hard to find people who will
care for these beautiful animals. Please help
them to keep going.

34. What an AMAZING!!!!! woman and truly
great human being. What a shame that so much
publicity is given to the dregs of
society...do I dare mention O.J.
Simpson...when awesome people like Janice go
unknown by the vast majority of people in
our country. Ellen, I know you are an animal
lover so hope you will provide financial
assistance to aid Janice in continuing to
help those who need it most.

35. What a wonderful place! The world needs
more people like Janice! She truly knows
what it means to be a responsible member of
Planet Earth! I too love the disadvantaged.
I have rescued and owned blind dogs, abused
dogs, puppymill dogs, etc. My dream would be
to do what Janice is doing and include all
types of creatures in need. Janice deserves
kudos for dedicating her life to those
animals! May she be an inspiration and model
to us all! Thanks, Janice! There's a special
place for you at the Rainbow Bridge one day!
(But may it be a long time away! God needs
you here a long time!)

36. Janice and I first met at a nursing home
over 2 years ago where we were bringing
animals for the residents to enjoy. I had
brought a young rescue dog, Sonny. A few
weeks later Sonny just layed down and would
not get up. Janice came over and immediately
knew the problem. Severe hip displacia.
After x-rays, the vet said immediate surgery
was necessary or euthanasia. Janice asked me
if she could take him home. Through her
amazing knowledge and dedication, within a
few months, Sonny, was running and playing
and showing no signs of disability or
discomfort. He will soon be 3 years old. He
may someday need the surgery, but Janice has
afforded him amazing health and the
opportunity to become full grown, thus
insuring Sonny has a long healthy, happy
future. Janice is an amazing, selfless lady,
who deserves some good fortune. BTW, her
home is only 400 square feet which she
shares with a dozen or so of the dogs.
People often walk in thinking it is her
office. She 'wishes' a lot, but never
complains. Shelter for the animals always
comes first. Carol Sacher

37. Janice's dedication to these animals is
inspirational. The time, love and money she
devotes to these animals shows how much she
truly cares for them. Please have her on

38. It was about two years ago, that my son
and his family and I visted Rocky Ridge.
Zeebiscuit still had some of his baby hair
and one of Janice's cats was riding the
water buffalo. The animals were all very
people savy and affectionate toward us and
each other. The proud Lurch, with his still
growing horns, was a majestic sight, not to
mention, totally unforgetable. The level of
rehabilitation with the variety of animals
that Janice so ably rescues is mind
boggling. These animals have all come from
troubled circumstances and yet, we did not
see anything sad about their spirts and the
quality of life Janice's animal family
enjoys. Make no mistake, these guys are all
family.

but did not find a way to donate money. I

40. Wow, I knew Janice through the rescue
group LBRT, Inc that I belong to and admired
her dedication and genuine gift for helping
animals in need- However I had no idea that
her "family" was so extensive and diverse.
Very Cool! I and I am sure millions of
others would love to see a segment on your
show about Janice her animals and perhaps
reunite her with some of the people and fur
friends that she has helped. What an
uplifting feel good story that will be- we
can always use more happy stuff!

41. I too was able to adopt a rescued Great
Pry through Ozark Dog Rescue, which I
learned about through Janice's website. My
little guy had been so neglected that his
legs would not even straighten due to the
confined area he had been kept. Janice works
so closely with the other rescue operations
in Arkansas..... it is so good to know that
our fur friends have a guardian angel in
Janice and friends.

42. Janice and Rocky Ridge Refuge are
amazing! Her pure love and empathy for all
animals is amply evident in all she does and
all she personally does without. We were the
first foster home for the pup pictured
curled up with the fawn (what a sweetie!)
and were surprised to find out he eventually
took up residence and work as a therapy dog
only a few miles from my hometown. We have
visited this Eden for animals and can barely
believe the species that make up this
peaceful kingdom. If only people could live
in the harmony that Janice's animals do!
Janice could certainly use a larger home as
she loves to take in large dogs and many
injured or handicapped animals. The "little
blue thing" needs an upgrade, the larger
animals need a barn and Rocky Ridge can use
assistance of almost any type.

43. Janice is a great lady who cares for
animals that society has turned its back on.
She doesn't discriminate for any
"disability" and the animals live full and
happy lives in her care. Most of the animals
at Rocky Ridge/Misfit Island wouldn't be
here today if not for this wonderful lady.
Please go visit Janice and her very awesome
menagerie of misfits!

44. I know Janice Wolf personally and she's
a wonderful person and devotes so much to
the animals. She puts all of the rescued
animals before anything. Janice is the kind
of person that would go to the ends of the
earth to save an animal. If I ever have a
problem with one of my rescued dogs I
wouldn't hesitate to call her and ask her
advice. She is more then happy to help
fellow rescuers in this area. Please have
Janice, Lurch and all the rest of the
critters on your show. Janice needs all the
help she can get. Sherry Jannick Mountain

45. Ellen - As a faithful viewer I
respectfully request that you visit Janice
Wolf at her Rocky Ridge Refuge. She
obviously loves animals as much as you do!
She could have single handedly provided all
the animals in your American Express
commercial. LOL I am involved with a large
dog breed rescue group called LBRT and I
have seen first hand how generous she is as
she has helped us (and our rescued dogs) in
times of need. The care and love she gives
to forgotten and unwanted animals is awe
inspiring. The most amazing aspect to me is
how her Refuge and the animals in it
demonstrate how everyone belongs and
everyone can all get along, be happy and
prosper if we would just try. Sharon

46. I first became aware of Janice and the
wonderful work she does thru my association
with Large Breed Rescue Taskforce, (an
organization committed to the rescue of
large breeds from any inhumane situation but
mainly puppy mills). She has on numerous
occasions been there to help without a
moments hesitation. It is her passion and
commitment to the less fortunate animals of
this world that make her a perfect candidate
for a visit from your show. Bringing
awareness of what she does to the millions
of your viewers will extend her reach that
much further and in the end it is the
animals that will benefit the most. Tho I
have not been there personally I can
guarantee you that it promises to be a day
you will not forget.

47. I have visited Rocky Ridge Refuge and am
amazed at how much Janice can accomplish

order to accomplish this. She is an absolute
angel to the abandoned, abused, neglected
and helpless animals in her care, I VOTE TO
SUPPORT HER!!!

49. Janice is a Hero to the animals here in
Gassville/Mountain Home, Arkansas. If
someone had to spend the money to help,
care, patch up and find good homes for the
animals that Janice has fixed they would all
be broke. She is a kind and loving Lady. Her
animals are the most important things in her
life outside of her family. I wish you would
do a show with her and the animals she has
saved and love. They need the help so much.
Thank you in advance for all you can do. One
word or maybe two or three about Ellen. Lady
you really Swing. You are all heart and I
love to hear you sing and watch you dance.
You rock the soul of everyone that hears
you. Thank you for all you do. Sally

50. Had it not been for Janice's website, I
would not have linked to the Ozark Dogs
rescue's website (where we subsequently
found and adopted our Great Pyr Buddy). It
is an indication of the bond between the
rescue folks in Arkansas and their lifelong
dedication to those unfortunate furry
friends. We are located in Colorado and were
saddened to see the condition of many
abandoned animals in that area. Individuals
like Janice are admirable and should be
honored, as the decisions she makes on a
daily basis make such a difference.

51. I am the director of the Arkansas Saint
Bernard Rescue and I work with Janice to
save the lives of animals. Janice is a great
lady that feels the calling to help the
animals that cannot help themselves. Janice
has helped me to pull Saint Bernards from
kill shelters all over Arkansas. Bless her
heart, she loves every animal and takes care
of the ones no one wants because of physical
deformations. Please help Janice and others
in Arkansas to help the animal that need us
so much! Angela Ellerbee Arkansas Saint

52. Janice has made so many sacrifices for
her "misfits" you should really come to
visit you will not be disappointed it is
such a beautiful place and the animals are
all so friendly and get along together.
Where else can you go and see a Watusi Bull,
Water Buffalo, miniature donkeys, dogs and a
deer running around together!!!!! She feeds
and cares for all the animals everyday
without any help and never complains. And
yes that little blue building is her house.

53. I am ten years old and I love to visit
ms Janice and her animals.

54. I have been to misfit island, also known
as Rocky Ridge this is truly an amazing
place. JAnice is a benefit to society and to
all animals but she really does need help
with housing. Day in and day out she cares
for these animals without once mentioning
her needs. Thank you

56. Ellen, I wish you would consider
supporting the wild Animal Sanctuary in
Keenesburg Colorado. Pat Craig has spent 27
years rescuing Wild Animals from all over
the country. These are Tigers, Leopards,
Lions, Bears, etc... With 155 animals on
their compound being lovingly cared for,
their weekly meat bill alone is $6,000. And
they don't receive a dime from the
government nor have corporate or foundation
endowments. Help and support come from
caring people like us. I found out about
them via an article in the July 2007 Readers
Digest. Please check out their web site.
Each of us can contribute or (my favorite)
"adopt" an animal on a monthly or annual
basis. The web site is:
www.wildanimalsanctuary.org. These are big
beautiful criters that need our help. Please
do check it out. Your help and support would
be super! Thanks. Jaffa

57. What an amazing woman. I think she's a
great role model. Couldn't you get some of
those cute animals acting jobs? lol
Seriously though, I think a barn for her
animals would be great.

58. Janice is a hero to these animals! They
need her and she needs you, Ellen. Build
that woman a home so she can focus on
helping out these great critters!

59. Ellen, I think you should go to Rocky
Ridge Refuse. What a great way to showcase
their needs and the animals they are
helping. Thanks, I love your show. Pat

60. I have been to Rocky Ridge Refuge and it
is so cool. I love Lurch! And all of his
friends. If I did not have to go to school I
would be up there to help and play with the
animals. She takes care of about 50 animals
all by herself which at her age is awesome!
She lives so simply without a computer or
cell phone or even a washer and dryer. I
don't know if I could live with out all that
stuff! I think I would die!! But, the
animals make it worth it to her.

61. Hi! I live just down the road from
Janice. She comes to the laundromat that I
manage. Janice is just amazing, she loves
animals so much, she does better than her
best when it comes to taking care of her
animals. I have been to Rock Rridge Refuge
and seen all her animals and to reply to
someone else's comment. Yes she does live in
that blue thing which is 400 square feet
with many many dogs and often various baby
animals that need a shelter from the
elements.because she does not have a barn
either! She has a heart as big as Arkansas
for animals. She really needs all the help
she can get. Her only care is for her
animals.

62. She is an amazing woman. Maybe Ellen can
help give her enough food to feed the
animals for a whole year.

by her. but does she really like in that

good person. Ellen.. you should make Lurch
your mascot!"

should help her feed all these animals.

66. I've been to Rocky Ridge. Janice is
truly one of the best people I've ever met.
But she needs a barn! Ellen, let's build her
a barn!! Thanks for caring about a woman who
never thinks of herself first. :-)

68. Meeting Janice and all of her friends
was a pleasure for me. I've brought family
and friends out to the Rocky Ridge Refuge to
marvel at her work, and donate to her cause.
The Rocky Ridge, however, is what it is
called. A small hillside in the heart of the
Ozarks riddled with rocks and very little
flat areas or grass in the pastures. Janice
has admitted that she wishes she had a
better piece of land to maintain the
orphaned critters (big and small) in her
care. Furtile land is in abundance in the
area, but money is not. Janice dedicates all
her time, funds, and labor to keeping the
animals well nourished all while taking on
legions of visitors from near and far. She
humbly accepts donations of any kind to help
all of her animals. Her pups are also up for
adoption to good caring homes. Janice is a
very interesting woman. Thank You for taking
interest in her. Kelly - Mountain Home, AR
